Meet the Arizona Factories Behind Kingman-Area Homes

Who builds the manufactured homes Mohave Homes sells near Kingman, AZ? Meet Cavco-Phoenix and Cavco-Goodyear, the Arizona plants, and the homes they build.

11/2/2026

If you're shopping for a manufactured home in Kingman or anywhere in Mohave County, it helps to know who actually builds the home before it rolls onto your lot. At Mohave Homes, Inc., just west of Kingman on AZ-68 in Golden Valley, many of the homes come from factories right here in Arizona. Here's a closer look at those plants, what changed with their names, and the homes they build that you can see on our site.

Cavco: two Arizona plants with new names

Mohave Homes lists Cavco Durango Homes and Cavco West Homes among the builders it carries. If you've seen those names and wondered why some of our home pages now say "Cavco Phoenix," there's a simple reason.

In June 2025, Cavco Industries moved 31 of its operations to its national brand name. As AZ Big Media reported, Cavco Durango, located at 2502 W. Durango in Phoenix, now operates as Cavco-Phoenix, and Cavco West, located at 1366 S. Litchfield Rd. in Goodyear, now operates as Cavco-Goodyear. The general managers of both plants said the people and operations building the homes stayed the same. The same report notes that Cavco has built and distributed homes in the U.S. and parts of Canada since 1965.

For you as a buyer, nothing about the homes changed with the name. The Durango and West homes you may have heard of are the same plants under new signs.

Built in Arizona, labeled in Arizona

Every manufactured home built to the federal HUD Code carries a red certification label on the outside of each transportable section. In Arizona, the state handles those labels. The Arizona Department of Housing says it is the exclusive IPIA for the state of Arizona and is responsible for issuing HUD labels. The department also notes it can only verify production information for manufactured homes built within Arizona.

HUD's manufactured home resources add one more thing to look for: the data plate inside the home, which shows the wind, thermal and roof load zones the home was built for. A home should never be placed in a more restrictive zone than it was built for. Ask our team to show you the data plate on any home you're considering.

The Liberty 24423A and other homes to compare

The Liberty 24423A is one of the most-viewed homes on our site, and its page lists it as built by Cavco Phoenix. It's a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home with 994 square feet, listed at $109K–$113K and shown at our Golden Valley location.

Our site also carries more Liberty and Economy Plus models. Each home's page names its builder, and our team can tell you which plant built any home you're considering. A few to compare:

  • Economy Plus 14401A — 1 bed / 1 bath, 533 sq ft, listed at $73K–$76K. An in-stock unit of the same model is listed at $70K–$73K.

  • Liberty 24442A — 2 bed / 2 bath, 1,041 sq ft, listed at $117K–$121K
